User Friendly Field Objects (UFFOs)

UFFOs or User Friendly Field Objects are some customizations to existing Sitecore fields, and the addition of some new field types to enhance the page editor experience for the user.

Specifically, fields that are commonly used within Sitecore but that are not page editor usable are modified include DropTree, DropLink, Grouped DropLink, MultiList, TreeList, DropList, Grouped DropList, CheckboxField, and TreeListEx.

In addition, BrainJocks SCORE(TM) adds a variety of custom field types that are designed for common usage scenarios - and can be used when building your own data templates to support customer requirements or new components that you have designed.

Making these items page editor friendly is a combination of 2 techniques.  First, for the built-in Sitecore field types, we have added Rendering Parameters to the renderField pipeline.


Second, we have added custom controls to allow these fields to be edited directly within the page editor, and function in a similar way to how they work within the content editor.

For the custom field types added, all field types are added with support for multi-tenancy, page editor AND content editor.
