Remove Retired Components from Placeholder Settings

The Progress Area and Progress Bar components were removed in SCORE 2.0 - mainly because we all hated it, and no one used it (smile)

That being said, if you are using them, you'll want to retire them as well.

In this case, it means removing them from any pages, and from any placeholder settings that are bound to your tenant site.

  • By default, SCORE placed these components into the Nested Content Area and Snippet placeholder settings item of each tenant.  If you haven't used this component, simply remove them from the settings item for each tenant, and you're all done.

The Progress Area and Progress Bar components also included it's own placeholder key - also called Progress Area.  Since the component can't be used, this key is also no longer necessary.  To delete this, perform the following steps:

  1. For each page type of each tenant, Snippet, home pages AND content pages remove the binding of the placeholder key settings from standard values

  2. For each tenant site, remove the placeholder settings item called layout/Placeholder Settings/<tenant name>/<tenant name> Content Components/Progress Area

If you have used this component and you need to continue using it, please contact support to request a packaged version.

  • For each tenant site, remove Progress Bar selections (can be found in /sitecore/content/<tenant name>/Selections)
    1. Progress Bar Styles
    2. Progress Bar Decorations
  • For each tenant site, remove Progress Bar insert options (can be found on /sitecore/content/<tenant name>/Selections).
